To conduct Final Location Survey, Geological & Traffic Studies, and DPR for new Broad Gauge Railway Line

In a significant milestone for India’s infrastructure and transportation sector, Monarch Surveyors and Engineering Consultants Limited (formerly Monarch Surveyors & Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd.) has been awarded a major contract valued at ₹6.18 crore for the Final Location Survey (FLS), geological and traffic studies, techno-economic assessment, and detailed project report (DPR) preparation for the proposed new Broad Gauge (BG) railway line between Jammu Tawi (JAT) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) in the Jammu Division.
The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for this prestigious project was recently issued, marking another milestone for Monarch in India’s expanding rail infrastructure domain. The project underscores the company’s growing expertise in providing end-to-end engineering and consultancy solutions for complex terrain and strategic connectivity projects.
Comprehensive Scope of Work
Under this contract, Monarch will undertake:
Final Location Survey (FLS) for route alignment between Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra
Associated geological and geotechnical investigations
Traffic survey and techno-economic studies
Design of railway alignment and preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR)
The survey and design work aim to support the construction of a new additional BG railway line, which will enhance rail connectivity to one of India’s most visited pilgrimage destinations — Shri Mata Vaishno Devi — and strengthen logistical links in the Jammu region.
Strategic Importance and Expected Impact
The project, valued at ₹6,18,96,221.98, is expected to positively impact Monarch’s business operations by expanding its footprint in national railway consultancy and project planning. The contract aligns with the Government of India’s continued emphasis on enhancing rail infrastructure, regional connectivity, and tourism-linked economic development.
According to the company, this engagement reinforces Monarch’s role in supporting critical transport infrastructure projects requiring multi-disciplinary engineering, geospatial analysis, and precision-based project planning.
Governance and Project Timelines
As per the disclosure filed with the BSE Limited under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR), 2015, the contract will commence immediately, with completion scheduled as per the terms specified in the letter of acceptance.
The company confirmed that the project does not involve any related-party transactions, and the consideration is purely on a cash basis. All necessary governmental and regulatory approvals will be obtained as per procedural requirements.
