Welcome to the second annual edition of ProjectX Iron & Steel, a focused compilation of project developments in India’s iron and steel sector. This edition consolidates projects published in the ProjectX India fortnightly editions from January 2025 to May 2026.
 
The edition tracks 223 projects of 143 companies across 16 States and Union Territories, highlighting investment trends, capacity expansion, modernization plans, and implementation activity across the iron and steel value chain. Chhattisgarh leads the project activity, followed by West Bengal, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, and Himachal Pradesh.
 
Most projects are currently at the Conceptual and Planning stage, supported by a healthy pipeline of projects under implementation. The edition covers opportunities across integrated steel plants, rolling mills, pellet plants, sponge iron units, ferro alloy facilities, beneficiation plants, and downstream steel products.
